Melville, NY- January 21, 2009 — VTS Medical Systems, LLC has been awarded the European Medical Imaging Product Line Strategy Leadership Award for 2009 by Frost & Sullivan. The award is to be presented at Frost & Sullivan’s “Excellence in Healthcare” Awards Banquet in London on March 19, 2009.
VTS was selected for the award due to excellence in the following measurement criteria:
- Insight into customer needs and product demands
- Product line optimization - leveraging products with price, performance and feature points required by the market
- Introduction of new products to strategically balance the product line
- The repurposing of technology to accommodate different market segments within an industry
- Enhancement of product offerings through optimization of packaging, service, delivery, financing and/or other added-value services
- Strategic technology or marketing acquisitions and alliances
The award citation states that “with the development of the ergonomically designed VividImage® series of monitors, VTS is set to achieve increased market penetration and customer base expansion in the Medical Imaging market.” The new VividImage® 26” surgical monitor scored ahead of its competitors due to superior circuitry and cable management design. The input ports are situated at a 45 degree angle on the back of the monitor minimizing cable and connector failure due to mishandling of the cables in the critical OR environment.
The monitor is able to dissipate the heat it generates, even though the enclosure does not contain a fan and is completely sealed, thereby making it perfectly suited for the rigorous cleaning and disinfecting protocols of the OR. The monitor meets crucial demands of the surgeon that include true color rendition, near real-time refresh rates, surgeon defined pre-sets of various image settings, and signal selection and setting adjustments with the touch of a button on the front-panel.
VTS’ value-added system integration services, open-ended, vendor neutral designs, procedure-specific room design which optimize the productivity of the healthcare professional and offering of advanced training and educational services for end-users are other factors that formed the award decision.
“This award validates VTS’ 20+ years of designing products and performing services for the healthcare industry that improve patient outcomes and meet the demands of surgeons and healthcare professionals worldwide,” stated Allan Katz, CEO of VTS Medical Systems, LLC.
To select the award recipient, Frost & Sullivan’s analyst team tracks end-user requirements and market dynamics within the healthcare industry. This process includes interviews with suppliers, end-users and industry experts. The product lines are compared with customer base demands and the top-ranking provider is presented the award.
Frost and Sullivan concluded that VTS Medical Systems has a thorough insight to the needs of surgeons and clinicians and will continue to make further inroads towards achieving an expanded customer base. Frost & Sullivan believes that the value-added products and services and the design intelligence of VTS will continue to win brand loyalty in the healthcare market. These cumulative factors made VTS the deserving recipient of this award.
