VTS works with leading boom and light vendors at the onset of the design and construction phases of a new OR or the retrofit of an existing one.
VTS is vendor neutral, both in terms of equipment and trade vendors. We will incorporate any manufacturers’ products into our integration system and work closely with all trades that would be necessary for the design and construction of a new OR or retrofit. This includes architects, IT staff and contractors for electrical, HVAC, plumbing and carpentry.
VTS consults with key hospital stakeholders to determine the expected functionality of the room. VTS understands that different disciplines of healthcare use the OR differently. For example, VTS has designed and integrated rooms for the following disciplines:
VTS routes signals from headlight cameras, surgical light arm HD cameras and lighthandle cameras through our AV control system and out to multiple monitors that can be chosen from the touch screen depending upon where the OR staff wants to view the images. These signals (images) can also be sent to and between conference rooms, consultation rooms, another OR, pathology, DVRs and/or a surgical theater (training room) both within and outside the facility.
The benefits of OR integration are improved room utilization resulting in better room turnover and more procedures per day per room. In addition, improvements in practitioner productivity and collaboration translate into better patient care. As a result, physicians want to use ORs that are efficiently designed and provide a state-of-the-art workplace environment. This serves to enhance the hospital’s image as a leading-edge place to practice.
