Integration of 35 Operating Rooms, Including Three Advanced CVORs
VTS has been working with NYU Medical Center for the past 20 years integrating operating rooms with the most current, technologically advanced products and services. VTS OR integration supports an open architecture which allows our integrated solutions to be vendor neutral, protecting the hospital’s investment in existing technology while expanding to include the most current technology. VTS worked with all equipment manufacturers and coordinated with all trade vendors to ensure a seamless integration of the new and retrofit ORs.
VTS has completed the integration of three advanced Cardiovascular ORs and 32 general ORs for NYU medical center. VTS worked closely with NYU surgeons to ensure that the performance and functionality they require is inherent to the design of the integrated system.
NYU was the first teaching hospital to display high definition video to enhance distance learning, conferencing and lecture methods. In the mid-’90s, the school was one of the first to up-link a live HD transmission of a medical procedure for distance learning—a live signal that was fed to a surgical convention. VTS designed and integrated the HD equipment necessary to accomplish this. VTS and NYU work together to highlight the enabled technology of NYU’s ORs to enhance the image of this world-renowned teaching hospital, attracting the best surgeons and healthcare professionals.
VTS also installed our touch screen software for the control of video routing between nine sources and multiple destinations in many of NYU’s ORs. The touch panel also controls surgical lighting, observation cameras and video preview.
VTS continues to upgrade, service and support the 35 integrated ORs at NYU.
