The VTS DVR provides the following capabilities: Control can be initiated from the VTS touch panel and/or the touch screen contained on the DVR device itself. Image capture and start/stop of the streaming images can be initiated from the endoscopic camera, if the camera vendor has provided the control buttons and the control sequence expected for the buttons in questions.

The VTS DVR supports both Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) signal sources. Input signal types include S-Video, composite, component and optional VGA. Since the platform for the VTS DVR is Windows XP-based, the unit supports USB peripherals such as high resolution photo printers which are USB 2.0-based.

The systems allows for capture of basic patient information such as patient number/case number, date, time and physician identification. In addition, flexible printing options allow for single or multiple images per page along with header/footer information containing basic patient/procedure identification.
